Dinosaur, Anatosaurus

Dinosaur, Anatosaurus CR 7 N Animal
An immense reptilian creature moves into view. It walks on four legs, with high hips and small, delicate forelegs. Its head features a broad beak and a colorful, fleshy crest.
Anatosauruses are among the largest of the common herbivorous dinosaurs known as hadrosaurs—at their largest, they grow to 50 feet long and weigh 10 tons. They are intensely social creatures, living in large herds and feeding on conifer trees and other coarse vegetation. Their massive guts and powerful jaws allow them to gain nutrients out of even the toughest plant matter, so an anatosaurus spends most of its time eating or sleeping.
Anatosauruses are excellent parents, laying up to 40 eggs at a time in nurseries shared by hundreds of adults. The juvenile dinosaurs are fed and protected by their parents in the nest until they reach the size of a sheep, whereupon they leave the nest and join the rest of the herd. Although they do fall prey to predatory dinosaurs such as tyrannosaurus, an anatosaurus is capable of defending itself if cornered. More frequently, though, they flee from combat, taking refuge in dense stands of trees.
